Valdia Shaver Budine, passed away to join her loving husband Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at home with her loving family. She was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Wendell and Rose Brace Shaver. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Cooperstown, and attended St. Christina's All Girls School and Delhi Tech. She married Kenneth R. Budine on June 3, 1939, at Christ Church, Honesdale, Pa., by the Rev. Allen. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth on Feb. 17, 1978, and 1 brother, Alfred Shaver. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Joan Budine of North Carolina; a daughter, Pennee Budine Horth of Bainbridge; granddaughters and grandsons, Danyelle Horth Woollis of Bainbridge, Tina Horth of Rochester, Tami Budine Flavin of Texas, Jayne Budine Meyers of California, Mirah Budine Fong of North Carolina, Brendon Budine of California, Sgt. David Budine, based in Germany and Florida, Sioban Budine, Rome; great-granddaughters, Ashlee, Amber Mae, Brennal of Bainbridge, Carly of Rochester, Emily and Candace of Texas, Lindsey, Chaundra and Brenna of California; and a great-great-grandson, John of California. Due to the love of the art of dancing, Valdia requests instead of flowers, contributions be made for a scholarship to be given on her behalf to the Fose Dance Center, Binghamton, where her great-granddaughters now attend. In addition contributions will be given to the Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY 13815. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
