Walton---A Delaware County highway worker, Everett N. Budine, 45, of Walton, was killed instantly at 11:45 a.m., yesterday when a power crane he was operating touched a high tension wire on the Franklin road about five miles north of Walton. Mr. Budine attempted to jump from the crane. As he did so, his hand brushed against the cab door and his foot hit a cable guard rail along the highway causing a short circuit, Douglas Merwin of Walton, an eye witness, said. [Portion about the accident omitted.] Mr. Budine was born in Walton Dec. 1, 1902, son of Cyrus and Hannah (Shutters) Budine. He married Laura Baker on Dec. 23, 1923. Surviving are his wife; a son, Everett L. Budine, Walton; a daughter, Mrs. Everett Filer Jr., Sidney Center; five brothers, Lewis Budine, Cannonsville, Robert Budine, Bovins, Leon Budine, Stanley Budine and Kenneth Budine, Walton, and four sisters, Mrs. Earl Robinson, Walton, Mrs. John Robertson, Oneonta, Mrs. Clyde Chamberlain, Binghamton, and Mrs, Alfred Hayes, Delhi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Walton Methodist Church. The Rev. Henry G. Lincoln will officiate and burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
