Roy was in the military. His gravestone reads, "CPL PW Barracks Guard CO WWI." They are both buried at Otterbein Cemetery in Mt. Victory, Ohio. Their marriage info can be found at the Hardin County, Ohio Courthouse in Kenton, Ohio (v. 18, p. 66).

Roy Bodine served in the U.S. Army from 4 Oct 1917 to 14 April 1919 and was discharged as a Corporal. In 1930, the Roy Bodine family lived in Dudley Township, Hardin County where Roy operated a farm. In 11 years of marriage the couple's only child was their 9-year old son Wilmer. Wavie (Duff) Bodine was named as a sister of Horton G. Duff in his newspaper obituary of 1 June 1960 in The Lima News.

Mount Victory---Roy Bodine, 72, of Wheeler St., died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday in Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, after being seriously ill four days. He was born to Albert and Anna Hile Bodine on Jan. 1, 1895, in Hardin County. On June 4, 1919, he married Wavie Duff Bodine, who survives. He was a retired New York Central Railroad employe and lived all his life in Mount Victory. In addition to his widow, he leaves one son, Wilmer of Mount Victory; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, George Bodine of Marion, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Dubbs of West Liberty. One sister and a brother are deceased. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Bosher officiating. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery in Hardin County. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday.

Mount Victory---Wavie Bodine, 83, of Wheeler Street, Mount Victory, died at 5:45 a.m. today in Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton. She was born Dec. 21, 1896, in Hepburn, and June 4, 1919, was married to Roy Bodine, who died Feb. 22, 1967. Her memberships included Mount Victory Church of Christ, its Ladies Aid Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post 198, Kenton. Surviving are a son, Wilmer Bodine of Mount Victory; 2 grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren. She was the last of a family of six. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mackey Funeral Home, Mount Victory, by the Rev. Winston Florence. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will receive 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
