W. H. Bordine the--oldest newspaperman in Calhoun county, and founder of the Michigan Tribune, published in Battle Creek over 50 years ago, passed away at his home at Hoeltzel Terrace at 8:30 last evening. He was 78 years of age. Mr. Bordine had been in ill health for several months and had beren consigned to the bed for five weeks. he is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Bird of Battle Creek, Mrs. Eugene Hoeltzel and Miss Minnie Bordine of this city; one sister, Mrs. C. J. Fredenberg. Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. W. Davis officiating.

Mrs. Victoria Adelaide Bordine, whose serious illness has been mentioned, died at her residence 316 west State st., at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. About ten years ago Mrs. Bordine suffered a stroke of paralysis, and she had been in poor health since. For the past two weeks her condition had been much worse. Miss Victoria Adelaide Markham was born in Pennfield township Dec. 29, 1843, being past 74 years of age. She married Wm. H. Bordine March 22, 1855, and he died April 16, 1916. For several years she resided in Battle Creek where her husband was editor and publisher of the Battle Creek Tribune. She then resided in Pennfield and about thirty years ago removed to Marshall. Mrs. Bordine is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R. W. Bird of Battle Creek, Mrs. E. A. Hoeltzel and Miss Minnie Bordine of this city. She is also survived by three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Harriet Travis, of Union City; Mrs. Elizabeth McGorun, of Kalamazoo; Mrs. Mary Ward, of Pennfield; R. J. Markham, of Marshall township; and Albert, Herbert and Seiget Markham, of Battle Creek. The funeral will move from the house Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. J. Wendel Davis will...
