In 1970 Marion Baily Thomas, who was working on Jacob List and Mary
Quick, sent her notes to Howard M. List, quote: It is believed that
JOHANN GEORG LIST had at least 3 children - GEORGE JR., JACOB and
MARGARET who married Garret Cozine.
She went on to say "I believe the Lists were in New Jersey for a few
years before they went to KY. JACOB LYST, Amwell Township, Hunterdon
Co., NJ Militia 1792."
Margaret is thought to be the daughter of GEORGE LIST and MARGARET
_______ who lived in Chanceford Township, York Co., PA. Their
daughter, Margaret, was baptized there in Guinston Presbyterian
Church.
JOHANN GEORG LIST arrived Philadelphia Oct. 1754 on the ship "Phoenix"
from Rotterdam. Settled in Newberry Township, York Co., PA in 1790.
Served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Thomas McNary's Co., York
Co., PA Militia 1779 to Kentucky in 1791 or before. (This would be her
brother, George Jr.)
