Notes for: Frank Daniel Bodine

Marty Bodine (bodine at pe.net) said that his father, Frank, retired from the Army after twenty-one years of service. Shortly afterwards, Frank's wife returned to Texas. Marty and his brother still reside in Southern California. After the death of his mother, Frank moved to Texas City, Texas where he lived with his brother, Thomas Lee Bodine. Frank enlisted at Fort Crockett in Galveston, Texas. He was 17 years old. He lied about his age in order to get in saying that he was born in 1914.

Don King says that Frank Bodine was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked.

Pat Drummond wrote this:

Frank Bodine was in WWII--maybe in Army--a Japanese soldier twisted his knee, and it gave him problems after that. He fought in the Pacific Theater. He was very tall--abt. 6ft. 7in. He was married twice, but I only remember the one's name--Margie Stedham. He was in Texas City, Texas, in Sept. of 1940 and assisted in the birth of this writer (with the doctor). After that, he spent some years in California.

Obituary, Emken Linton Funeral Home, Texas City, TX 77592
Marjorie Bodine entered into eternal peace on July 1, 2016 in Texas City. A visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, additional services will be held in California. Marjorie was born December 6, 1924 in Cincinnati Ohio to Lawrence and Naomi Stidham. Her father's work required that the family move from Cincinnati to Alabama and eventually to Texas City. Marjorie was a long time resident of Texas City. She graduated from Texas City High School and was present during the Texas City explosion of 1947, which claimed the life of her father. Marjorie accompanied her husband to pre-war Korea, where she gave birth to her second son, Martin in Pusan, Korea. Marjorie and Frank opened a business in Lynwood, California after Frank's retirement from the Army in 1956. They operated their business together for fifteen years until Frank's death in 1971. After Frank's demise, Marjorie sold the business and pursed her spiritual calling. She was involved with many church organizations and preformed Missionary work in Mexico. She later returned to Texas City to continue her lifelong love of the Lord and developed a reputation for her ability to touch people through prayer. Marjorie had many interests and maintained a special love for animals, especially dogs and cats. She loved music and could often be heard singing along with musicals and selected sacred songs. She had an extensive collection of Angels displayed throughout her home that were given to her by many friends and admirers. Marjorie, AKA ''Mom'', was a spiritual mother to many people younger than herself. She was an active listener and would pray for people to resolve whatever conflicts they may be experiencing. According to many she possessed a special quality for touching their spiritual side. Marjorie is survived by her oldest son, John L. Bodine and wife Judy of Ramona, California, her youngest son, Martin Bodine and wife Gloria of Casa Grande, Arizona; brother, Donald Stidham and wife Shirley of Texas City, Texas; grandsons, John Bodine, Jr. of California and Daniel Bodine and his wife Mandy of California; granddaughters, Kristen Bodine and Kelly Bodine of California; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Marjorie touched many people through her independent ministry and was highly regarded as a caring, loving person who was very much in touch with her spiritual side. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
