Karl H. Hammond and Miss Elsie M. Bodine, daughter of W. C. Bodine, both of Plainfield, were married last evening by the Rev. J. Y. Broek at his residence on East Ninth street.

Karl Hill Hammond, 68, of 937 W. Fifth St., died yesterday (June 11, 1959) in a hospital after a long illness. A native of Plainfield and a lifelong resident here, Mr. Hammond had retired about four years ago from the American Cyanamid Company's Bount Brook plant. A clerk, he had worked there 38 years. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elsie Bodine Hammond; a son, George S. Hammond of 4 Almont Pl.; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin A. Perine of 143 Stout Ave., Middlesex; three sisters, Miss Leah Hammond of 75 Watchung Ave., Mrs. Fred Stephens of Ocean Grove and Mrs. Frank Martin of Neptune; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held in the Memorial Funeral Home at 3 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Lorenz A. Proli, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, North Plainfield.

Mrs. Elsie M. Bodine Hammond, 71, of 4 Almont Pl., North Plainfield, died at her home yesterday (June 19, 1966). Widow of Karl Hill Hammond, Mrs. Hammond was a lifelong resident of Plainfield and North Plainfield. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, North Plainfield. Surviving are a son, George S. Hammond, with whom she lived; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin A. Perine of 230 First St., Middlesex; a sister, Mrs. Ann Miller of 22 Washington Ave., North Plainfield, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, with interment in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, North Plainfield. The Rev. Lorenz A. Proli of Trinity Reformed Church will officiate. Friends may call tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
