Notes for: Mae Bodine

In 1910, May Bodine was 19 and single, living with her parents in Phillipsburg, Warren County, employed as a saleswoman in dry goods. In 1942, John Edward Helwick, of Easton, Pa. registered for the World War II draft. He reported he was born 25 March 1888 in Easton, worked for the Easton Trust Company, and Mae B. Helwick was his next of kin. The Phillipsburg, NJ City Directory of 1944 lists John E. & Mae B. Helwick as residents.

From Lehigh County, Pennsylvania Marriage Records:
John E. Helwick, 32, of Easton, Pa., salesman, born in Easton, Pa., son of Edw. Helwick & Minnie Startzell AND May Bodine, 30, of Phillipsburg, NJ, born in Far Rockaway, NJ, daughter of Benj. Bodine & Amelia Cregar, were married 13 Dec 1920 in Easton, Northampton County, Pa., by Paul J. Neff.
