Notes for: Charles David Bodine, Dr.

I believe he was Orville's only son. Charles was from Oklahoma City. From info I saw on the Internet, I wonder if he was the Charles David Bodine who married Carol Lucile Fisk who was born Oct. 31, 1918. Info from RB seems to confirm that.

BODINE Carol L., passed away Thursday, September 7, 1989 following respiratory failure. Born Norman, OK. Attended the University of Oklahoma, graduated Oklahoma City University. Member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and past Altar Society Secretary. Member Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and Gamma Phi Mother's Club, past president of the Oklahoma County Medical Society Auxilary. Survived by her husband Dr. Charles Bodine, daughter Dorothy Miller, sons Thomas Bodine and Leo Charles Bodine , 5 granddaughters: Julie and Laura Miller, Virginia, Elizabeth, and Carol Bodine, daughter-in-law, Ann Bodine, son-in-law, James Miller. Mass of Christian burial was held at noon on Saturday at the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements by Smith & Kernk e Funeral Home.

BODINE Gloria Ann, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. Gloria was born on February 4, 1928 in Tulsa, OK, to E. Edgar and Sybil Marie Wilson. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and attended OSU where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She retired from the Oklahoma State Senate Staff in 1993. Gloria then married Dr. Charles Bodine. She had a passion for her family, dancing, traveling and playing bridge. She was active in the Mayfair and Reveler's Dance Clubs, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Chi Omega Alumnae Assoc. and several bridge clubs. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dr. Charles Bodine; 2 sisters, Marlene and husband, Bill Wilson and Sharon LaFlamme; 4 daughters, 2 stepsons, 1 stepdaughter and their families: Susan and Harlan Coit, Janet and Jim Day, Kathy and Neil Schemmer, Joanna Sawyer, Dorothy and Jim Miller, Tom and Penny Bodine and Leo Bodine, 19 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at the Smith and Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May Ave.

Dr. Charles D. Bodine, 90, passed away December 10, 2009 in Oklahoma City. He was born May 12, 1919 in Joliet, IL. He graduated from Classen High School, The University of Oklahoma and The University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. Army Captain Charles Bodine served as a medical officer during World War II, stationed in the China, Burma and India Theater, rescuing downed pilots who crashed flying over "The Hump." Dr. Bodine was a past President of the Oklahoma City OB-GYN Society, Secretary of the Oklahoma County Medical Society and a member of the AMA, a Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University Of Oklahoma College of Medicine, a member of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, a member of Delta Chi Fraternity and an avid OU football fan. He married Carol Fisk Bodine March 9, 1944, until her death in September 1989. They had 3 children: Dorothy, Tom and Leo. He married Gloria Ferguson Bodine August 28, 1993, until her death October 12, 2002. He has spent his last years with very special friend, Isle Wolohon. Dr. Bodine was preceded in death by parents, Orville and Pearl Bodine; wife, Carol Bodine; second wife, Gloria Ferguson Bodine; daughter, Dorothy Bodine Miller; and daughter-in-law, Ann Bodine. He is survived by sons, Tom and Leo; son-in-law, Jim Miller; 5 granddaughters: Virginia Bodine, Julie Miller, Elizabeth Montgomery, Laura Kaul and Carol Bodine. Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 16, at Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May Ave. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure , or the charity of your choice.
