Notes for: Minerva ("Minnie") West Bodine

I did have her name as Ann ("Minnie/Annie") West Bodine, but I don't see any great proof for her name being "Ann."

Here is some info on this family:

Subject: Bodine information

Hello, my name is Peter Goodell, and I am a Bodine descendant. I am reasonably certain of the following lineage: My great-grandmother, Minerva West Bodine (B 5/14/1872, D 7/14/1950) was the daughter of David Bodine (B 1/12/1842, D 12/2/1921) and Emily Lair. David was the son of Jacob Bodine of Delaware Township, Hunterdon County, NJ (B 8/31/1806, D 8/8/1867) and Catherine Fauss. His death records record his father's name as John Bodine. Here is where it gets murky.

I believe John may have been the John Bodine born in Alexandria Township in 1788, D 3/27/1858 in Lewis, Lycoming County, PA. And his father may have been Jacob Bodine (B 1760, D 1801 in Alexandria, NJ), M to Mary Pickell. I have conjectured this Jacob's father to be a Pvt John Bodine, (B 1/1/1741 in Hunterdon County, D 12/24/1836 in Wayne County, Ohio). He perhaps was the son of John Jacob Bodine ( B 8/22/1716 in Somerset County, NJ, D 1757 in Hunterdon). And I have his parents listed as Jacob Bodine (1684-1750) and Elizabeth Sebring. And Jacob's father may have been Jean Bodin.

If you have ANY information that may help me corroborate this line, I would appreciate it. And if this helps you at all, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to look this over!

Note on the above message: I highly doubt John Bodine, b. 1788, was David's grandfather. That John Bodine would have been too young to be the father of Jacob Bodine born in 1806.

Dave- Thanks for your speedy reply! The date of David's death is from Find a Grave. I'll try to get to the cemetery today, but I seem to remember the stone being difficult to read. My tree, and all my records, list my great-grandmother as "Minnie W"; there was one place I saw her listed as Minerva, but I can't seem to find it today....... As for Peter Bodine, and Isabella Ent, my early research did, in fact, lead me to think he was an ancestor, but for some reason, I thought this was erroneous. Delaware Township historian Marfy Goodspeed has some 8 Jacob Bodines in her Delaware Township database, so it is VERY confusing! Her website, Goodspeed Histories, has a Bodine Family Tree, but Jacob, son of Peter, seems to be a dead branch........
