WASHINGTON, Ia., March 17.---Mrs. Joseph P. McAnulty died Wednesday evening about 8:30 o'clock after an illness which began Feb. 1, 1917, when she had a fall that broke her hip. Before she had fully recovered from this accident she fell and broke her other hip and since that she has been bedfast for a greater share of the time. A third fall occurred in the fall of 1922 and since then she has rapidly declined in the end. Mrs. Anulty was born Dec., 1, 1831, in New York. She was formerly Miss Julia Bodine. When Mrs. Anulty was only a small girl she was taken with her parents to Rushville, Indiana, where she grew up. Only a younger brother, Frank Bodine, survives and he lives at the old home in Rushville. On Feb. 25, 1855, she was married to Joseph P. McAnulty and they lived together for 61 years. They moved to Burlington in 1856 but soon they moved to a farm west of Washington and remained there until they came to town to live. He bought a little home on South Marion avenue and there in September 1916 he died. Mrs. Anulty went to Omaha to live with her daughter, Mrs. Ella Savage, with who she has lived ever since. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Jones and McElhinney funeral parlors. Rev. Arthur Oates of the First Presbyterian church conducted the services.
