Notes for: John Bodine
This John is probably the John Bodine buried in the New Hurley DRC Burying Ground in Plattekill, Ulster County, New York. That John was born November 2, 1795 and died on February 7, 1835. He is noted as the first deacon of the Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley. I imagine this must be near Plattekill.

John Bodine, First deacon of the Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley was buried in the New Hurley Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Plattekill, Ulster County. The dates on his gravestone read born 2 Nov 1795 and died 7 Feb 1835. Considering that all the Bodines buried in the New Hurley DRC Cemetery are of this family, there is no doubt this is the son of John and Mary Bodine.

Married. On the 7th ult. by the Rev. Mr. Bogardus, Mr. John Bodine, of Plattekill, to Miss Mary Thorn, of Newburgh.
The will of John Bodine of Plattekill, Ulster County was written 5 Feb 1825 and therein named his wife Mary, Jane, wife of John Gerow, Mary Gerow, John Gerow and Elizabeth Gerow, the children of Jacob Gerow; the trustees of the Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Valley; the heirs of his brother Henry Bodine, his brothers Peter, Levi and Isaac Bodine and his sister Esther. His wife Mary, Aaron Raymond and John B. Morrison were appointed executors. The will was proved 25 May 1835. [Ulster County Wills, vol. H [1831-1836], pp. 420-423]
Jacob Gerow (1802-1857), named in the foregoing will, was married to Jane Thorn (1807-1880), daughter of John Thorn and Mary Birdsall. Their son was named John Bodine Gerow. Mary Thorn, wife of John Bodine, was also a daughter of John and Mary Thorn. After 1845, Mary Thorn Bodine married Aaron Raymond. Both are buried in Platekill Friends Cemetery, Plattekill, Ulster County.
