Notes for: Catherine Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

Peter Rolph and Catherine Bodine were married at the Port Richmond Dutch Reformed Church. Although recorded in the marriage records as Rolph, subsequent records show the name to have been Roff. In 1850, the family was living in Castleton, Richmond County recorded under the name Roff. Peter Roff was engaged as a boatman. In 1860, the Roff family was living in Brooklyn, Kings County, and Peter was a Sea Captain. He appears to have died prior to the 1870 census.

Children: Catherine A. (c1831), Franklin (c1831), John L. (c1833), George W. (c1835).

Dear Dave,

I don't know how often you check your page, but I stumbled onto it today after I realized that my GGG grandmother's name was spelled Bodine not Bodin, as it looked in the old family Bible we have. All these years, and a small receipt in the book with the name Mrs. Bodine, not Bodin, as it looks in the old fashioned writing.....incredible!!

I will be in touch at some stage. We have all the info on her children, and subsequent generations to the present.

Looking forward to taking a bit of time to see what else you have already uncovered in your work.

Regards,

Carolyn Roff Henry
