Obituary, The Allen County Republican-Gazette (Lima, OH) of Tuesday, 21 May 1901.
The news of the sudden death of Harvey A. Bodine startled his friends yesterday afternoon shortly after three o'clock. While it was known that Mr. Bodine was not in the best of health such a thing as his death was not thought of. For the past ten months Mr. Bodine has been troubled with aneurism which gradually grew in size but he continued his work as tinner for the Hercules Torpedo Co., until the last week, during which time he was at home. It was the intention to go to Cleveland next week for an operation. While at home, Mr. Bodine has not been confined to his bed. At noon yesterday he was around as lively and apparently as well as he had been for some time. About 3:30 o'clock he was talking to a visitor when he fainted and in fifteen minutes, before a doctor could arrive, he was dead. The conclusion reached was that a blood vessel had burst and that an internal hemorrhage had caused the sad end. Mr. Bodine was 42 years of age. He was born near Utica, Pa., and followed the trade of tinner. He had been a resident of Lima a number of years and was a member of Ontario lodge Pathfinder and Lincoln Court of Ben Hur No. 23. Mr. Bodine leaves a wife to mourn his loss but had no children. Funeral services will be held at the residence Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock, interment in Woodlawn.
