The wedding of Robert Bodine and Edith Thayer at the home of the bride's uncle Frank Leak, in Germantown, was reported in the Philadelphia Inquirer of 14 June 1896. Robert Bodine was living 1900 at the home of his mother-in-law in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. In his 4 years of marriage with Edith, the couple had one child. Robert was employed as a bookkeeper for the telephone company. In 1910, the Bodines were still living with Edith's mother and Robert was now a manager with the telephone company. In April 1930, he was living in East Orange, Essex County working as a telephone company auditor. The Springfield Union of 14 Sept 1957 reported that Mrs. Fannie Bodine celebrated her 80th birthday that week.

Amherst, May 7--Robert L. Bodine, 88, of Pelham, died late Thursday night at Plainfield, N.J. where he was visiting at the home of a niece and nephew. Born in Philadelphia Jan. 21, 1866, he was the son of Robert L. and Katherine (Burn) Bodine. His father served as a general during the Civil War and fought at the Battle of Gettysburg. Mr. Bodine was educated in Philadelphia and for over 40 years was an auditor for the American Telephone & Telegraph Co. until his retirement. He was a member and former vestryman of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in East Orange, N.J. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneer Association. Besides his wife, Mrs. Fannie (Simard) Bodine, he leaves a son, Robert of North Grafton; granddaughter and a niece. Services will be held at the Douglass funeral home Sunday at 2. Rev. M. Everett Corbett, pastor of the Pelham Federated Church, will officiate. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

AMHERST-Mrs. Louise (McDowell) Bodine, 89, of Pelham died Monday at a local nursing home. She was born in White Plains, N.Y., Sept. 8, 1877, daughter of the late John and Emma L. McDowell. She had lived in Ballaston Spa, N.Y., Holyoke and this town. She was married to Robert L. Bodine 31 years ago. They lived here and in Pelham. She leaves two brothers, Henry L. Sicnard of Northampton and Ralph Sicnard of Pelham; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Coward of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Fortier of Holyoke and a stepson, Robert Bodine of Ocoee, Fla. Services will be in Ballston Spa at the convenience of the family. The Newell-Amherst funeral home will handle the arrangements. There will be no visiting hours.

Frances Bodine was buried in Ballaston Spa Village Cemetery, Saratoga County, New York.
