My father James R Bodine is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Attica, Indiana. You can view his obituary at www.mausfuneralhome.com, click onobituaries, then archives and then look in June 2005, his obit is the 4th one down.

Mary Eleanor Bodine Gayler is still alive in nursing home in Attica,IN, Georgeanna Bodine Ford lives in Covington, IN.

Mary Eleanor married Harold Gayler (deceased)- 2 children Donald Gayler and Karel "Ann" Gayler ( born... 1942, died... 2003).

Ann married Francis "Fran" Behler... 1966. They had 2 children Todd and Brett.

Donald Gayler married Rita Welch in... 1966. They had 6 children: Bradley, Christopher, Julie, Elizabeth, David and Paul. Don and Rita live in Attica, IN.

Georgeanna Bodine married Donald Eugene Ford... 1949. They had 2 children Cheryl and Stephen "Bruce" (born... 1955). Don Ford died May 24, 2005.

Cheryl Ford married Leonard Orr, they have 4 children: Jennifer, Sarah, Katie and Ashley. They reside in Covington, IN

Bruce Ford married Brenda McDaniel. They have 2 children Stephen and Stephanie. They reside in Indianapolis, IN

I'll see what else I can get for you regarding date of birth, marriages as most of Ann, Don and Cheryl's kids are married and some have kids of their own now.

Also Grace Coffing (b 1904) Grace died July 27, 2000. She is buried in Mt Home Cemetery in Covington,IN. She and Clint Coffing had 1 daughter Reva, Reva married William Sahm and they had 9 or 10 children. Reva is still alive and lives in Indianapolis.

James Russell Bodine, Attica - James Russell “J.R.” Bodine, 85, Attica, died in the VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, Illinois, on Friday, June 24, 2005, at 1:00 a.m. He had been in failing health since 2000.

J.R. was born in Attica, Indiana, on April 16, 1920. He was the son of the late James L. and Eleanor Pearl Hickman Bodine. He was raised in rural Covington, graduating from Covington H.S. in 1938. He has lived most of his life in Shawnee Township in rural Attica.

J.R. had farmed all of his life in Shawnee Township. He had served as Trustee of Shawnee Township; served as a school board member of the Attica Consolidated School Corp. Mr. Bodine served as the Superintendent for the Fountain County Highway Department and later worked as the branch manager of the Production Credit Association in Covington for 14 years, when he retired in 1983. Following his retirement, he served as District Director for the Indiana State Highway Department, when he retired in 1993.

Mr. Bodine served in the U.S. Army during WW II and at the time of his discharge, he obtained the rank of Sergeant. He saw action in North Africa, Italy and Sicily campaigns.

He was a member of the Quigle-Palin American Legion Post of Newtown and a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2395 of Covington. He had attended the Portland Arch Christian Church.

On March 30, 1947, J.R. married Eleanor Louise Slauter in Attica, IN. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Candace D. Wright, Boise, ID; a granddaughter, Ashley Wright, Boise, ID; two sisters, Georgeanna Ford, Covington and Mary Eleanor Gayler, Attica.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, June 27th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Quigle-Palin American Legion Post or the V.F.W. Post # 2395.
