Notes for: Mortimer Charles Bodine

LDS also had a record saying he was born in Vienna Township in Genesee County, Michigan. Another record had him born in "Lebanon, of Marion, Kentucky." And another record had him born on April 16. One other record has his birth year as 1830 instead of 1831. No source was given.

There is a Mortimer C. Bodine who enlisted for the Union at Vienna, Michigan on August 8, 1862. He was 31. Mortimer was dead by the time his father composed his will. Albertus was named, instead, in the will.

Information about his son Albertus, says Mortimer died in the Civil War. Catherine Horman's info says he was a member of 23rd Reg. Michigan Volunteers in the Civil War. He was constable in 1854 (Genesee Co.???).

I have transcribed a newspaper from 1862 which contains this name. I only had access to this paper for a limited time. It is in a private collection.

I hope this helps you verify death information. Sorry, I am not related.
