Notes for: Jethro Jeremiah ("Jerry") Bodine

I did have a Jethro and a Jeremiah listed as William's sons. However, I later found information at FamilySearch.com giving Jethro's full name as Jethro Jeremiah Bodine. This would make sense since, I believe, others have thought that Jethro and Jeremiah were the same person. Jeremiah does not show up in the 1860 to 1880 Censuses. Jethro was mentioned in the 1877 "History of Winnebago County," but maybe not in the 1905 book. Beatrice Hansen said Jeremiah was divorced. He later moved to Swain, Arkansas where he was a farmer. Catherine Horman gave his name as Jethro Jeremiah and says he died after 1900 in Iowa.

Ok, this is everything I have on Hattie:

Parents:
Father: Julius Goakey, born Canada or New York (he always said New York in the census, but in his civil war record he said Canada).
Mother: Alma Jane Jeffers, born in New York.

Grandparents:
Paternal:
Jeston Augustus Goakey, born France, Mary Eliza Brashaw or Hudson (a sons death certificate lists his mothers maiden name as Bashaw, but I've seen it both ways, so unknown).

Maternal:
Alba Jeffers born in 1811, Diana Phoebe Newton born in New York.

I have more on these if you want it.

Hattie was born in Illinois in 1863. According to her fathers probate records, in 1903, she was living in Marysville and signed as Hattie Chappelle, so it appears she had remarried at that time. Now, I have seen two names for the man she married, 1. William Bodine, and the other name I have seen is Jerry Bodine. She was married supposedly on Feb 16, 1879, so that might be a good place to look for a marriage record? In 1911 she deeded some land in Marysville to her brother Julius Edgar Goakey, the date was May 15, 1911. She signed as Hattie A. Fiman, formerly Hattie A. Chappell, window of Willam Chappell, deceased.

In the 1900 census of Greene county Missouri, Julius, Hattie's father has his grandchild living with him, an Eva Bodine. So it appears that Hattie sent her child to live with her father. Eva is 13 years old and is listed as being born is Missouri, and was born in the year 1886. If you are a decendant of Hattie, let me know how you are related. I have more information on the Goakeys, the Jeffers, and some of the other related families. I have pictures of Hatties maternal grandparents and am trying to get pictures of her parents from another cousin. If you need census records, I have a subscription to ancestry and will try to help you find what you're looking for.
