Thomas Cotton, Jr., (1730-1808), was a private in Capt. John Perkins'
company for the relief of Boston. He was born in Pomfret, Conn.; died in
Hartland, Vt.
Also Nos. 13868, 24796.
Willard Cotton, (1757-1836), served in Capt. Elias Weld's company of Windsor
County, Vermont, militia, 1780. He was born in Pomfret, Conn.; died in
Lenox, N. Y.
Elisha Gallop, (1727-1800), was a minute man at the Royalton Alarm in the
Vermont militia. He was born in Stonington, Conn.; died in Hartland, Vt.
John Bodine served as a minute man in the Burlington County, New Jersey,
militia. He was born, 1743, in Somerset Co., N. J.
Peter Ervin, (1762-1846), enlisted, 1779, in the New Jersey Continental Line
and served until the surrender at Yorktown. He died in Richland County,
Ohio.

Good Afternoon, Dave. I have just found and copied for my daughter your material on the Bodines. My Grandmother was Laura Bodine Latimer--her Mother was Cornelia m. Chamberlain Bodine. Grandmother researched her family history because she wanted to join the DAR (which she did). I have only the information printed in THE COMPENDIUM OF AMERICAN GENEALOGY fIRST FAMILIES OF AMERICA. I suspect you have all of that as well. I can send you a copy of my info, if you like.
This all very exciting. My Maine daughter and i were talking this week about the Bodines.
Are you familiar with a William Sabin (1600-1663) known as The Patriarch of Rehoboth, Mass from LaRochelle, France? another Huguenot.

Issue: Rachel Mercy, born May 21,1892 Portage,Wi.d Dec. 19, 1981 DeSmet, S.D, buried in DeSmet Cemeteryed Lawrence College Appleton, Wi and U of Wis Milwaukee. Married Aug 10, 1918 to David C. Jones , div 1934, remarried George Stimson, DeSmet SD. Issue: Barbara Rachel (Fraser) : Laurie Margery (Fox) . (2) Margery Bodine (Toomer) BFeb 8, 1899 in Portage, D. Aug 16 1932 in childbirth in Chicago. Buried in Portage.
FRANK CHAMBERLAIN BODINE b June 24 1855 in Plymouth, Ohio- attended U of Cincinnati, Instr Pasadena Jr. College Presbyterian
ADA O BODINE b 1852 in Plymouth, Ohio (m. Rev John Teney--missionaries in the Indian Terr of Oklahoma.) Aunt Ada died in her son John's home in Little Rock, Ark but I don't have anything else on her.
CLARK WATT LATIMER died in 1932 in Portage, Wi and is buried there with Margery and Grandmother. I have more about the Latimers of Mansfield Ohio. I also have Uncle Frank's marriages and issue, if you'd like that.

Obituary, The Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, Wisc.) of 16 Sept 1935.
PORTAGE--Clark W. Latimer, 75. father of the late Marjorie Latimer Toomer, Wisconsin literary figure, died of a heart attack Saturday in a Minneapolis hotel. Mr. Latimer was a salesman and had lived here for the last 45 years. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Jones, and a grandchild, the daughter of Mrs. Toomer. Funeral services wil be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the home here, the Rev. J. V. Bergen, of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Members of the Elk's Lodge will form an escort to Silver Lakes cemetery, where burial will take place.
Children: Rachel (May 1893), Margery Bodine (8 Feb 1899-16 Aug 1932).
