Big Bill's grandson, Bill Bodine, says he moved to Jeffersonville, Indiana around 1924. He was a school teacher, a principal, and a prison guard.

In 1910-1930, William Bodine lived with his family in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana where in 1910 he worked as a reformatory instructor and in 1930 as a claims investigator for the railroad. In 1910, he reported that in 4 years of marriage his wife had borne 2 children, both then living.

In 1942, William Bodine of Henryville, Indiana registered for the World War II Draft and reported he was born 22 March 1883 in Covington, Indiana. Florence M. Bodine was his next of kin. On 23 April 1948, William Bodine filed a Social Security Life Claim and again reported he was born 22 March 1883 in Covington.

On 15 Aug 1951, Florence N. Bodine filed a life claim and reported she was born 2 Dec 1885 in Boone Co., Ind.
