DECATUR - Larry Lynn Bodine, 69, of Decatur, IL, died 5:50 P.M., Sunday, June 21, 2009, surrounded by his family, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. A funeral service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2009, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with visitation two hours prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Monticello Township Cemetery, Monticello, IL. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and C.I.C.I.M. Arrangements are being handled by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Larry was born June 3, 1940, in Decatur, IL, the son of Jesse and Cleo (Curtis) Bodine. He married Mary Peyton on March 11, 1961. Larry was a 50 year member of Plumber and Steamfitter Local 65 in Decatur, IL. He also was the owner/operator of the Leprechaun Landing located at the entrance of Wolf Creek State Park and established the Deerfield Bed and Breakfast in 1993. Larry loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was very active with Central Illinois Christians in Mission (C.I.C.I.M.). He leaves behind his wife of over 48 years, Mary of Decatur, IL; sons Mark and wife Laurie of New Market, TN, Russ and wife Melody of Forsyth, IL; daughter Bridget Neumann and husband Gavin of Mt. Pulaski, IL; Grandchildren Emily (wife of Aaron Wolfenbarger), Ginny, Rachel, Stephen, Nathanael, Caleb, Lydia, and Jonathan of Tennessee, Kristi and Will of Forsyth, Brittany, Zacchary and Derek of Mt. Pulaski; Great Grandchild Jackson of Knoxville, TN; sisters Carol Goff and husband Darrell of Decatur, IL, Sharon Skronski and husband Fred of La Place, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard (Dick) and wife Barb. The family would like to give special thanks to the outstanding staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital especially to Dr. Gaurang Patel and Dr. Benjamin Esparaz for all they had done to care for Larry. Also, the family would like to thank Larry's church family, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, and the friends at C.I.C.I.M. for all their prayers and support during his illness. Larry was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him and we welcome the day we will all be together again in the Lord's kingdom.
