Notes for: Abraham (Abram) C. Bodine
He inherited land in Ovid from his father. He then moved there with his brother John C. Bodine. Abraham is mentioned as the second son in Cornelius' will. The will says he inherited land in Clarence, Niagara County, New York. On a family group sheet from Laurel Auchampaugh, it looks like his death date is November 16, 1884 in Clarence, New Jersey. I earlier had that he died in Ovid.
In the 1855 Census of Clarence, New York, Bartlett is 22, Hannah Elizabeth is 17, Webster is 14, Cornelius is 11, and Julia Ann is 9. Missing are Helen Percis (Thompson) and Sarah Cordelia (Thompson). They were married and living away from home. A Betsy Carmer (Cramer?) was listed as a boarder in their house.
Much of the information about Abram's children and grandchildren comes from letters and family group sheets sent to me by Laurel Auchampaugh, the Owasco, New York historian. She is also a descendant of the Bodines from that area. A letter from a Miriam Chaffee was included in this. It had lots of data on this family. I believe Miriam was the daugher of Vera (Bodine) Schurr.

1880 Clarence, Erie County: Abram Bodine 77 wid., Hellen Tompson 50 dau., Chauncy Bodine 1 grandson.

Abraham C. Bodine died at his home in Clarence Sunday evening aged eighty-two years. He had lived in Clarence since 1830.
