The marriage of Allen Sleeper and Emma Bodine was reported in the Bordentown "Register" of 17 Jan 1879. Allen Sleeper moved to Sheldon Township, O'Brien County, Iowa in 1878 and founded the town of Everly. The Sleeper family was living 1900 in Lonetree Township, Clay County, Iowa where Allen was engaged as a grocer. Emma reported she had borne only one child, then living with them. In 1910, the Sleepers were living in Sheldon Township, O'Brien County, Iowa where Allen now served as postmaster. In 1920, the family was living in Floyd Township, O'Brien County where Allen now worked as a banker with the National Bank.
