Ovid, March 24--The funeral of Mrs. John Osgood who died Wednesday morning was held this afternoon from the house. The deceased had been in the dry goods business in this village for several years and was highly respected. Death was due to a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered several days ago. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Pitcher.

Waterloo, Feb. 9.---John Osgood, 86, oldest business man of the village of Ovid, died Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. C. Pitcher, No. 25 Wilmer street, Rochester, where he had been for the past few weeks. He conducted a dry goods store at Ovid for over fifty years. The body was taken to Ovid to-day. Funeral at Ovid Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. H. A. Porter officiating. Burial in Ovid cemetery.

Ovid, Feb. 10--Word was received here Wednesday of the death of John Osgood. Mr. Osgood had been in poor health for several weeks. A few days ago he went to Rochester to the home of his daughter, where he died. Mr. Osgood has run a dry goods store in Ovid for several years. He was 87 years old, having passed his birthday last week. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. L. C. Pitcher of Rochester and three grandchildren, Osgood of Elmira, Roy of Rochester and Mrs. Snider of Rochester. Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. Burial in Ovid Evergreen Cemetery.
