Notes for: George W. Bodine

There is a George W. Bodine in the 1855 Census of Orange Twp., Schuyler Co., NY who might match this George Bodine, but that is only a guess. It needs more research since this data might also match the George Bodine who is the son of John C. Bodine (this Cornelius' brother). Note that this part of Schuyler County was formed from Steuben County in 1854.

BODINE George W. head 32 b. Yates co.
Mary Ann wife 26 b. Steuben co.
Ida child 5 b. Steuben co.
Francis M. child 2 b. Steuben co.
MUNCY Eliz. ? 71 b. Conn.

This family is discussed in Edson Payson Bodine's article "The History of the Branch of the Bodine Family Founded by Cornelius Bodine, A Soldier of the Revolution, and a Pioneer of the Lake Country of Central New York" (1897). It is not a well-documented article, but the later genealogies are probably pretty accurate. His earlier genealogies may have more mistakes. He lists two children for this George Bodine: Frances M. Veeder and Ida M. Wormley. Based on this, the Census information above does apply to this George Bodine.

From Ronny Bodine:

Mary (Dolph) Bodine was the daughter of Alvin Allen and Mercy (Calkins) Dolph.
