Notes for: Hannah (Johanna) Bodine

E. P. Bodine lists them as having eight children. There is more info at the Auten Family web site. I don't know about Thomas Auten, Hannah's husband, but three of Thomas's siblings are buried in the Gospel Lot Cemetery in Ovid, New York. Therefore, maybe Thomas and Hannah are there, too.

From Ronny Bodine (June 19, 2018):

From History of Michigan, by Charles Moore, Volume II, Chicago: The Lewis Publishing Co., 1915. Only the following portion was extracted:
Isaac Bodine Auten was born in Ovid township, Seneca county, New York, on the 6th of October, 1854, and he is a representative of families whose names have been worthily linked with American history for many generations. He is a son of Thomas and Johanna (Bodine) Auten, both of whom were likewise natives of Seneca county, in the idyllic lake district of the Empire state. The father was born in 1815, and his death occurred in 1878. His wife, who likewise was born in 1815, survived him by about fifteen years and was summoned to eternal rest on the 15th of June, 1893, at the venerable age of seventy-eight years.

From New York Federal Census Records:
1850 Ovid, Seneca County: Thomas Auten 32 NY farmer, Hannah 32 NY, Abram 6 NY, Martha 4 NY, Ann E. 3 NY, George 8/12 NY.
1860 Ovid, Seneca County: Thomas Auten 44 farmer, Hannah 44, Mary A. 19, Abram V. 17, Martha C. 15, Elisabeth 12, Geo. B. 10, Emma J. 8, Isaac B. 7, Peter D. 1: all noted as born in Seneca County.

Hello. You have a fascinating site. I am wanting to do more research I B Auten ( Isaac Bodine Auten). My husbands father- Frederick Bodine Auten.. did some family searching and typed up a couple of pages for me. I love genealogy as I have researched my own family. I am a DAR member. And I have several patriots that I have proved back to. I am interested in the Civil War Autens/ Bodines/ Bigelow as well as any American Revolution same names. I dink around on the computer with the names he has given me. Looking at stories and connections. My husbands family is from the Cass City MI area.. His mom and aunt now live in Florida as we do...
