Notes for: Charles Hawley Bodine

Charles Bodine raised his family in the house that is now a Bed & Breakfast called the Bodine House. I believe it is in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This was in the family until 1975; although, it was passed down mostly through the daughters. The Smiths bought it in 1983 and made it into the B & B. It was first owned by a Mr. Gray. Barbara Bodine was the first Bodine there. She moved there in 1863. See "www.BodineHouse.com" for more information.

I have a little information for you. Not sure if you have some of it already.

Abraham and Mercy Paxson Bodine had the following children: John born 12/28/06 do not know death date
Charles born 7/4/09 - died 4/19/1851; Elizabeth born 11/23/11 - no dath date; Margaret born 9/23/14 - no death date; George born 4/1/17, died 9/22/67 - married to Euphemia (no maiden name and don't know about children.
Abraham married Barbara - she was born 9/23/97, died 7/18/80. They had Russell born 1/8/29.

Lucretia Hawley married Russel Bodine. Their daughter Mary married a Painter. I remember him but not his wife. She was gone when I went to see him as a child. I have an obit notice of the death of a Wm. P.I. Painter who was their grandson who died of typhoid fever at age 21 and is buried in Muncy Cemetery alongside his grandparents.

Annie Rogers is my grandfather's sister and I remember her well. Her husband's name was Samuel. Her children were Harry, Margaret, Helen, Madge, Louise, and James. Margaret and Helen died during the flu epidemic around 1918. James is the only one who had children. Richard, Sylvia and James Rogers. Annie is buried in Muncy Cemetery as are Harry, Madge, Louise and James. Don't know about Margaret and Helen.

As far as I know, this information is correct. I got it from an old Bodine family bible and some obituaries I had saved.

Forgot to mention that Madge and Louise Rogers were never married. Harry was married to Ida Vandine.
