3rd marriage-1921--ANNIE STROUD.
Son Isom Otis Bodine was born 27 March 1922 in Ellwood, Harris County, Texas. His birth was not recorded by the state.

The obituary of Dock B. Mitchell, 63, who died 24 April 1959 in Vernon, Texas which appeared in The Paris News of 26 April 1959 names among his survivors a stepson, Isom Bodine. Dock Mitchell was 1st married to Cora Elizabeth Owens in 1920 and between 1921 and 1940 she bore 12 children and died 9 Nov 1943 in Paris, Lamar Co., Texas. In May 1944 in Hugo, Choctaw Co., Oklahoma, Dock married Mrs. Annie Owens. The obituary of Roy E. Mitchell, 42, in The Vernon Daily Record of 3 Aug 1971 names among his survivors his stepmother, Mrs. Annie Mitchell of Vernon, a stepbrother, Isom Bodine of Vernon and a stepsister, Mrs. J. T. Hall of Lubbock.

Mrs. J. T. Hall was Artie Lou Hall, born Artie Lou Curtis on 23 Feb 1934 in Fannin Co., Texas to Philander and Annie (Stroud) Curtis. The Texas Birth Certificate notes Annie, born in Fannin County, has now borne 4 children, 3 presently living and one born alive, but now deceased. Mrs. Hall died in 1976. In 1940, Artie Lou Curtis, 6, lived with her mother, Annie Owens, 37, in Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas.

Based upon the foregoing, it appears that Annie Stroud 1st married Otis Bodine and bore him Isom in 1922, then married Philander Curtis and bore him Artie Lou in 1934, before April 1940 married 3rdly a Owens, and in 1944 married Dock Mitchell. Thus both Isom and Artie were the step-siblings of Dock Mitchell's natural children with Annie Mitchell being their stepmother. Annie Mitchell of Vernon attended the funeral of her stepson Roy Mitchell on 6 Aug 1971 and is named as living in Vernon in a Vernon Daily Record newspaper article of 23 Feb 1973 in relation to her daughter Artie Hall. On 5 July 1979 in Hunt Co., Texas, Annie Stroud Mitchell married Johnnie J. Wilcox.

From Social Security Records:
Annie S. Wilcox, daughter of Isom & Mary C. (Frazier) Stroud, was born 22 Nov 1902 in Gober, Fannin Co., Texas. In Sept 1966 her name appeared as Annie S. Mitchell and in Sept 1979 as Annie S. Wilcox. She died 1 Jan 1988. Her last residence was Atlanta, Cass Co., Texas.

From Texas Death Records:
Annie Wilcox died 6 Jan 1988 in Cass County.

On 13 Sept 1914 in Horatio, Sevier County, Arkansas as Lissie King, age 14, she was married to Orlando Patten, age 17. In 1920, she, aged 20, lived with Elijah and Alice Patten in Clear Creet Township, Sevier County recorded as their daughter and divorced, with her 2-year old daughter Vesta. But clearly she was their daughter-in-law. One can only surmise that Lessie and Orlando resolved their differences as she bore two more children, Calvin Patten in 1923 and Ruth Patten in 1925. Married in 1928, by April 1930, Otis and Lessie Bodine lived in Parks, Stephens County, Oklahoma with Lessie's 3 Patten children, Vesta 12, Calvin 7 and Ruth 6.
