In 1930, recorded as Roland Badine, he lived in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas where he worked as a laborer at odd jobs and in 1940 lived in Los Angeles, California working as a night watchman. Roland Bodine became a Baptist preacher and as reported in the Casa Grande (Az.) Dispatch of 14 March 1957 has conducted a non-denominational mission at Bapchule for the past 11 years in Bapshule, Pinal County, Arizona, with the Pima Indians. In Nov 1961, the Greeley "Daily Tribune" reported that Mrs. Roland Bodine was a missionary among the Pima Indians in Bapshule. Lois (Brust) Bodine was the daughter of Tofel and Marguerite Brust.

AJO--Services for the Rev. Roland R. Bodine, 63, a Baptist missionary who died Sunday in Ajo Hospital, will be held at 5 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ajo Cemetery. An Arizona missionary for the past 20 years, Mr. Bodine moved to Ajo in February and served at Hickiwan Papago Indian village near Casa Grande.
