Mrs. Bertha Bodine, 43, died early Monday in John Sealy hospital. Mrs. Bodine, a 10-year resident of Galveston, was a member of the Baptist church and lived at 2708 61st street. She is survived by her husband, James R. Bodine of Galveston; her mother, Mrs. Casandra Griff of Jasper; a sister, Mrs. Melva Ernst of Covington, Ky.; and two brothers, Woodrow W. Knippa of Jasper, and Stanley E. Knippa of San Antonio. Funeral arrangements are to be announced by Broadway Funeral Home.

WOODVILLE---Funeral for James R. Bodine, 76, of Woodville will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home with burial in Allison Cemetery east of Warren. He died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after an illness. A native of Missouri and formerly of Electra, Texas, he lived in Woodville four years and was a retired construction steel worker. Survivors include a brother, Eugene D. Bodine of Pearland, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
