Notes for: James S. Bodine
A source on the Internet put the birthdates for James and his wife in the 1840's. One source it listed was "The Wenger Book," by Samuel S. Wenger, ed. 1978. The order and dates, as well as the names, of their children is very much in doubt. Info from Brett Bodine only listed Levina June, John, Catherine, Minerva, and Simon. In Crown Hill Cemetery, there is also a Hannah Bodine (bu. June 4, 1847 - age 1), Emmaline (bu. October 26, 1860 - age 7), and John H. Bodine (bu. Sept. 18, 1865 - age 15).
The info about his father's will seems to show that this James' middel initial was "S."
Ronny Bodine noted that a supposed daughter Catherine was born about 1855, but we have deleted her for now. Some information said she was named in the 1860 Census, but she is not. There is no record of a Catherine in this family. This is not to say there couldn't have been one who died in childhood, but no mention of a Catherine has yet feen found.

James Bodine, aged 83 on 20 Jan 1906, of Orville, Ohio, born East Union Twp., Wayne Co., Ohio, son of Samuel Bodine & Mary Fox AND Clara E. Brothers, widow, aged 57 on 19 Dec 1906, of Orville, born Levarr, Stark Co., Ohio, daughter of Edward Dagen & Cathrine Biddle were married 17 July 1906 by G. W. Styer, M.G. His 3rd marriage, her 2nd marriage.
In 1910, Clara Bodine, age 60 and widowed, lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Etta and John Herman, in Green Twp., Wayne County, Ohio. In 1940, Clara Bodine, aged 90, lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Etta and Harry C. Porter, in Orrville, Wayne County.

Elizabeth Bodine died 15 Nov 1895 in Orrville aged 72 years. Wife of John [sic].
From Ohio Death Certificate of C. Elizabeth (Brothers) Bodine, widow of James Bodine, dau. of Edward & Catherine (Biddle) Dagen, born 19 Dec 1849 in Navarre, Ohio, died 27 Dec 1945 in Orrville, Wayne County, buried in Fredricksburg, Ohio. Informant was H. L. Porter, of Orrville.
