Notes for: Louisa Bodine

The information from the 1880 Census of North West, Williams Co., OH does not match the information I have on this family. There are several discrepancies in the names, ages, and places of birth of Louisa and Raphael's children. This should be checked.

From Ronny Bodine:

From Allen County, Indiana Marriage Records:

In July 1860 and June 1870, Rafael and Louisa Moss lived in Cedar Creek Township, Allen County, Indiana where in 1860 Rafael worked as a carpenter. In 1860, besides their two children, their household included Louisa'a widowed mother Elizabeth Bodine. In June 1900, Louisa Moss, now widowed, lived with her son, Charles Moss, and his family in Northwest Township.

Obituary, Steuben Republican (Angola, Ind.) of 4 Oct 1905.
Louisa Bodine was born in Putnam county, Ohio, Aug. 15th, 1837, and departed this life, Sept. 29th, 1905, aged 68 years, 1 month and 14 days. She was married to Raphael Moss in 1855. To this union was born 7 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters still survive. She united with the M.E. church when 13 years of age and all these years has kept the faith ever ready to cheer the lonely heart and point the way to a brighter sphere. Her religion was practical, her faith unbounded. The community has lost a respected citizen, who for over 30 years has been identified with the history of this place.
