On 12 Sept 1918, Claude Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Becker, Minnesota. In 1930, as Claude C. Bodine, age 42 and single, he lived with his father in Visalia, Tulare County and worked there as a laborer on a fruit farm. Claude Bodine was buried in Visalia Cemetery, Tulare County.

1940 (12 April) Visalia, Lane off Highway # 133, Tulare Co., CA: BODINE, Claude A. 56 SD single farming. Residence on 1 April 1935: Same.

Claude Aloysius Bodine, born 21 Feb 1886 in South Dakota, died 20 April 1956 in Tulare County. Mother-Creegan.
May B. Bodine, born 25 July 1886, died 18 Nov 1962 in Tulare County. Mother-Maher.

May was the daughter of John L. & Katherine T. (Maher) Sullivan with whom she (age 23) was living 1910 in Tulare County and in 1930 (age 43) and 1940 (as Mae, age 53) with her brother Thomas Sullivan in Visalia, Tulare County.

From Visalia (CA) Times-Delta of 24 Aug 1944:
The marriage of Miss May Sullivan of near Farmersville and Claude A. Bodine of the Venice district is being announced to their friends. The ceremony was performed by the Very Reverend Joseph B. Howard in St. Francis Catholic Church in Bakersfield. Mr. and Mrs. Bodine are making their home for the present near Farmersville.

The 1952 Dinuba (Calif.) City Directory first lists Claude and May Bodine living at the same address.

The 1963 Visalia (Calif.) City Directory lists Mary [sic] S. Bodine, widow of Claude, as a resident.

Obituary, Tulare (CA) Advance-Register of Monday, 23 April 1956.
Funeral services for Claude Bodine, 70, Farmersville rancher and member of a well known Tulare area family, will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church, Visalia, at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the Hadley chapel, Visalia. Bodine died Friday night in a Visalia hospital. He was born in North Dakota and came to California 36 years ago. He farmed in Farmersville and the Elbow Creek area, where he developed one of the first walnut groves. Surviving are the widow, May Bodine, Farmersville; five sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Belleefuille, Tulare, Mrs. Zeta Kleinhaus and Mrs. Charlotte Spencer, Santa Paula, Mrs. Eva Foucht, Exeter, and Mrs. Janice Engelking, Merced; and seven brothers, Ray Bodine, Tulare, George and Jim Bodine, Visalia, Earl Bodine, Santa Clara, Paul Bodine, Porterville, Leo Bodine, Lindsay and, Tony Bodine, San Luis Obispo.
