Notes for: Joseph Anthony Bodine, Sr.

Much of this info comes from the 1900 Census of Long Branch, New Jersey. I think that census says he was born in Feb. 1860, but that doesn't match earlier censuses. On the 1880 Census of Monmouth Co., New Jersey, he is 24 years old. On the 1870 Census, he is 17. I would tend to think he was really born in 1856 or 1857.

I see his son is a Junior; so I assume this Joseph's middle name was also Anthony. That is only an assumption, though. I did have no middle name until some new info came in.

From Ronny Bodine (June 5, 2020):

His birth ranges wildly from census to census but was given as 24 in 1880 and 54 in 1910, used here to establish 1856 as his year of birth and the month of February from the 1900 census.
