1930 Jersey City, Hudson Co., NJ: John BODINE 28 NJ meterman-public utilities, Eleanor 28 NJ wife, Lorraine 3 6/12 NJ son [sic], Jean 9/12 NJ dau.

1940 Jersey City, Hudson Co., NJ: John BODINE 38 NJ meterman-electric co., Eleanor 38 NJ wife, Lorraine 13 NJ dau, Jean M. 10 NJ dau, John 5 NJ son.

On 14 Feb 1942, John Joseph Bodine of Jersey City, New Jersey registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 30 July 1901 in Long Branch, NJ, worked for Public Service Electric & Gas Co., and named his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Bodine, as his next of kin.

John Bodine was born 30 July 1901 and died Dec 1974. His last residence was Kearny, Hudson Co., NJ. [But, his Application for Seaman's Certificate of American Citizenship states he was born 31 July 1901 in Long Branch, NJ.]

Eleanor E. Bodine, born 5 Feb 1902, of North Arlington, Bergen County, died 1 Oct 1990 in Wyckoff Twp., Bergen County, aged 88 years.

ELEANOR E. BODINE, 88, of North Arlington died Monday. Surviving are a son, John J. Jr. in Virginia; two daughters, Lorraine Sales and Jean McDowell, both of North Arlington; 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, John J., died in 1974. Mass will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, both in North Arlington. Visiting is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington.
