Notes for: George Henry Bodine

Ellen Dean MOREY was born in 1867 in Cheshire Township, Allegan County, Michigan. As Ellen D. Mossel, she filed an application for naturalization on February 17, 1937 in Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan. She was the second wife of Berend K. Mossel. The name of her first husband was Bodine. I am not sure why she applied for naturalization. She must have been an American already; although, she says below that her "race" is German. From the info below, it is unclear exactly what happened. My thanks to Geoffrey Williams from New Zealand of the Morey Forum for pointing this out inconsistency.

In an advertisement for Dr. Derk P. Her father died of consumption when 35 and her grandfather died of consumption at 45.

Ellen (Morey) Bodine was the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Jane (Gillespie) Morey. After the death of her 1st husband she married Berend Koenes Mossell (1861-1937) on 28 Dec 1897 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
