Mrs. Anna Conover Pierce, wife of Rev. Dr. Robert F. Y. Pierce, pastor of Hydewood Park Baptist Church, died yesterday after a lingering illness. She was born in Quakertown on June 15, 1852, and had lived in Plainfield sixteen years. Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Henry T. Fielding of Russell place, and one son, Charles F. Pierson of Ridgefield. The funeral will be held from the late residence, 1220 Lenox avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Plainfield, N. J., Dec. 5. The Rev. Dr. Robert F. Y. Pierce, noted educator and author, and one of the founders of Temple University, died at his home early today, he was 92 years old. For more than 60 years Dr. Pierce was active in Baptist church work. He wrote religious books and illustrated Sunday School lessons which were widely syndicated. For a number of years he was president of the American Bible Society.
