PARIS--George C. Bodine, 57, of Paris died at 2 a.m. Sunday in the Pleasant View Rest Home, Paris. He had been hospitalized at the Ellis-Fischel Hospital, Columbia. Mr. Bodine was a farmer and road construction contractor. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Born Jan. 4, 1911, in Kansas, Mr. Bodine, a son of Mrs. Clement Bodine and the late Mr. Bodine. He was married to Florence Shortridge, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, two sons, Larry Bodine, Monroe Cty, and Mike, who is serving in the United States Navy; three daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia) Hestling and Mrs. Joyce Greene, Quincy, Ill.; and Mrs. John (Shirley) Hawk, Hannibal; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Greening, Ladonia; Mrs. Fred Green, Vandalia; Mrs. Walter Thompson, state of Georgia, and Mrs. Dale Allison, Kansas City, Kan.; seven brothers, Mark, Indian Creek; Cecil, Paris; Robert and Fred, Peoria, Ill.; John, Springfield, Ill.; Henry, Eldon, and Bill, Blackwater; and four grandchildren. The body is at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris, Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Frances Cabrini Church at Paris. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

On 25 May 1984 in Paris, Monroe County, Emma Florence Bodine, 68, married Dallas Gilbert Farrell, 76.

Emma Florence Bodine Farrell, 83, of Mokane died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Riverview Nursing Home in Mokane. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Agnew Funeral Home in Paris with Rev. Rob Fields officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Farrell was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Stoutsville to Albert Galton and Emma Frances Shirley Shortridge. She married George Clement Bodine in 1938, and he preceded her in death. She later married Dallas Farrell in 1985, and he also preceded her in death. She was retired from employment as director of NECAC. She attended St. Frances Cabrini and St. Peters Catholic Churches. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Minehardt of West Virginia, Shirley Ann Hawk of California and Joyce Webb of Colorado; a son, Michael Joseph Bodine of Fulton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a stepbrother and a stepsister. Memorials are suggested to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Paris, Mo.
