In 1900, she is Stella Bodine, age 10, living with her mother and siblings, but at her marriage was recorded as Estella Bodine. On 12 Sept 1918, Bernard Rice registered for the World War I draft in Terre Haute, Vigo County and reported he was working as a miner with the Freeman Coal Company.
