From: The Mirror (Leesburg, Va.) of 9 March 1882: Married: On March 2, at the Presbyterian parsonage, Farmwell, by Rev. L. B. Turnbull, H. C. Alexander to Martha J. Bodine, all of Loudoun. In 1900, the Alexanders were living in the Broad Run District of Loudoun County where Richard worked as a carpenter. Richard reported that in 16 years of marriage his wife had borne one child, then living with them. The household also included Martha's nephew, George Peacock, age 17. Richard and Martha Alexander were buried in Mount Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Waxpool, Loudoun County.
